1This section provides basic and current information about Tibia and this website. See the guide section for some introductory tutorials and for a detailed reference manual about the game.

In the news we will announce every important change or innovation of the game and the website. Visit this page regularly to keep informed of what happens in and around Tibia.

If you are new here, the screenshots and the list of features will give you an idea of Tibia. Joining the game is easy. Simply sign up to get an account and download the game.

If you would like to make Tibia even more fun, take a look at the list of premium features.

The website index is a list of relevant key words that come up in the context of the game. It will help you to quickly find any information you are looking for.

Finally, the about section shows the copyright information, the disclaimer for the contents of our website and our contact address.

2 here are still many months left until the summer update will be launched, but already we are busily mixing the ingredients for the new game area. But the map extension is not the only project that is boiling on our stove! Take a sneak look behind the curtain and find out what is cooking in Tibia!

In a few weeks time, we are planning to introduce a statement control system. This system will allow senior tutors to report illegal statements from all public channels to the customer support. Now, insults and other illegal statements in the public channels are dealt with much more effectively. Also, we will introduce a new feature that will allow you to make sure you receive private messages only from your friends, while ignoring those from all other players.

Finally in summer, we invite you to the Caribbean! As many as 12 different islands will be added to the west of Tiquanda. These mysterious islands, known as the Shattered Isles, hold many surprises for those that are brave enough to face them. Visit the prospering seaport Liberty Bay that is located on Vandura, the largest of the Shattered Isles. Its inhabitants are peaceful humans and some of them might even have some jobs for you if you ask them politely. Victorian architecture has surely influenced the mansions of the upper class in Liberty Bay. If you want to impress your girlfriend, you definitely want to rent a house in this area. Stroll with her to the streets of Liberty Bay to give her a chance to show off with her new outfits, and she will be yours forever!

If you are looking for adventure, we suggest you meet the guys in the "Jolly Seahorse" for a drink. This old tavern is a favourite among widely travelled adventurers. Some of them tell unbelievable stories about a rebel hideout, others even claim to have heard about packs of bloodthirsty pirates that are prowling the unexplored islands. Sagas are told about untold riches on the legendary Treasure Island. The weirdest rumours, however, deal with the Forbidden Islands. People whisper about strange sightings, voodoo curses and odd incidents that are supposed to happen in this cursed place. Of course, these may only be tales by superstitious old sea bears. But then, they say there is grain of truth in every lie. How much of it might be true?

Have fun in Tibia!
Your CipSoft Team

3 here is still space in our new office that we would like to fill with skilled and dedicated colleagues who are prepared to help us to develop Tibia further. Unlike the game itself, the website has not changed much during the last years. Of course, the website should also keep up with the improvements in the game. For this reason we would like to create the position of a web designer who will give our websites a new look and who will work on graphics and layouts supporting our marketing team.

Furthermore, our content team needs support in expanding the map. Therefore, we are looking for a level designer. Besides creating detailed concepts for the creation of new areas in the game, the scope of duties also includes writing texts for NPCs, developing new quests as well as processing bug reports.

Have you always dreamed about a job at your favourite online game Tibia? Are you creative and speak German and English fluently? Are you interested in a full-time employment in our office in Regensburg/Germany? Then you should take a close look at the jobs section on the CipSoft website to learn more about the requirements. We are looking forward to your letter of application.

Good luck!
Your CipSoft Team

Jan 17 2006 - CipSoft Has Moved Office
s many of you will already know, we have recently moved office. There was certainly much work to do, and we have all been very busy to ensure that we can provide a trouble-free operation of the game while moving. Finally, the relocation is completed and everybody got accustomed to the new working place. The normal course of life has already found its way into the new office and it is surely a relief that we do not have to work between packing cases anymore! Most importantly, we are happy and proud to announce that we managed to move office without any major problems and especially without any interruptions in the game service.

We have decided to abandon our beloved old office for strategic reasons. With the new office, we will have space for further expansion. We will continue hiring new staff to improve our service further and to develop new cool features for Tibia and for TibiaME. Our present team consists of a total of 22 people which divide into several departments. The largest department is the customer support, where 8 hard-working team members look after the community and keep the website up-to-date. Also, there are 3 programmers who do all the tricky software coding. 3 notoriously busy system administrators work hard to ensure a smooth and trouble-free game service. Our creative department currently consists of 2 resourceful content writers who make up new stories and design new areas as well as a gifted graphic artist who spends his days drawing impressive new pictures and objects. Finally, there are our 4 executive officers, the founders of Tibia and CipSoft, who manage the whole company and, last but not least, our omnipresent team assistant who organises the office. A new programmer will join the team in February and a marketing manager in March. It's safe to say more people will follow soon so we will be well prepared for the challenges the future has in store. After all, with more manpower, positive changes in the game play and in our service can be realised more quickly and with even better results.

We are all already very eager to start working on the annual summer update. Our creative minds have rolled up their sleeves, and a first preview on the planned topics will be presented here in a couple of weeks. So stay tuned!

See you in Tibia!
Your CipSoft Team

We disclaim all warranties or conditions of any kind, expressed, implied or statutory, including without limitation the implied warranties of title, non-infringement, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for any lost profits or special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the game, including, but not limited to, loss of data, items, accounts, or characters from errors, system downtime, or adjustments of the gameplay.

While you are playing "Tibia", you must abide by some rules ("Tibia Rules") that are stated on this homepage. If you break any of these rules, your account may be removed and all other services terminated immediately.

Tibia is an online role playing game in which thousands of players from all over the world meet everyday. In order to ensure that this game is fun for everyone, CipSoft expects all players to behave in a reasonable and friendly manner.

CipSoft appoints "gamemasters" who have the power to stop destructive behaviour in the game or on the official website by penalising, banishing or deleting characters or accounts.

Such behaviour includes, but is not limited to, the following offences:

1. Names
a) Names which contain insulting (e.g. "Bastard"), racist (e.g. "Nigger"), extremely right-wing (e.g. "Hitler"), sexist (e.g. "Bitch") or offensive (e.g. "Copkiller") language.
b) Names containing parts of sentences (e.g. "Mike returns"), nonsensical combinations of letters (e.g. "Fgfshdsfg") or invalid formattings (e.g. "Thegreatknight").
c) Names that obviously do not describe a person (e.g. "Christmastree", "Matrix"), names of real life celebrities (e.g. "Britney Spears"), names that refer to real countries (e.g. "Swedish Druid"), names which were created to fake other players' identities (e.g. "Arieswer" instead of "Arieswar") or official positions (e.g. "System Admin").

2. Statements
a) Insulting, racist, extremely right-wing, sexist, harassing or generally offensive statements.
b) Repeating identical or similar statements within a short period of time or use of nonsensical or badly formatted text ("spamming").
c) Advertising content which is not related to the game or offering Tibia items for real money.
d) Non-English or not topic related statements in a public game channel or forum board.
e) Inciting to violate the Tibia Rules.

3. Cheating
a) Exploiting obvious errors of the game ("bugs"), for instance to duplicate items. If you find an error you must report it to CipSoft immediately.
b) Intentional abuse of weaknesses in the gameplay, for example arranging objects or players in a way that other players cannot move them.
c) Using tools to automatically perform or repeat certain actions without any interaction by the player ("macros").
d) Manipulating the client program or using additional software to play the game.
e) Trying to steal other players' account data ("hacking").
f) Playing on more than one account at the same time ("multi-clienting").
g) Offering account data to other players or accepting other players' account data ("account-trading/sharing").

4. Gamemasters
a) Threatening a gamemaster because of his or her actions or position as a gamemaster.
b) Pretending to be a gamemaster or to have influence on the decisions of a gamemaster.
c) Intentionally giving wrong or misleading information to a gamemaster concerning his or her investigations or making false reports about rule violations.

5. Player Killing
a) Excessive killing of characters who are not marked with a "skull" on worlds which are not PvP-enforced. Please note that killing marked characters is not a reason for a banishment.

A violation of the Tibia Rules may lead to temporary banishment of characters and accounts. In severe cases removal or modification of character skills, attributes and belongings, as well as the permanent removal of accounts without any compensation may be considered. The sanction is based on the seriousness of the rule violation and the previous record of the player. It is determined by the gamemaster imposing the banishment.

These rules may be changed at any time. All changes will be announced on the official website.
